create a cloud site API
Its very frustrating if you live outside of the US and dont want to use Rackspace for billing (in US$) for cloud sites. It seems so simple to release an API for provisioning and data collection. I have asked for over a year now, and its always next quarter, next quarter. When is this coming because until cloud sites can integrate with 3rd party billing software its as useful as a one string guitar.

I know there are several people that want the whole API to be able to manage everything about cloud sites from front to back and all around, but if we could at least get it to LIST (read only) our Client List, with at least Client ID, name and company name, that would be *very* useful.

Based on the fact that RS can't seem to get PHP 5.3 going in a timely fashion or even wrap their head around a backup solution, I'd say the API just isn't going to happen.

I absolutely agree with the statement above. I am at the beginning statges of an influx of new customers coming to me. It would prove very profitable and efficient to have an API for credit card and data collection for quick client account creation. Please help us resellers/developers with this asap. Thanks for any help you can offer.

totally agree, I can't understand why it is not available yet. An api that allows us to create sites on our control center for clients as well as DB would be huge.
I can have over a thousand new clients immediately if this was available.
As well if we could have the clients pay for the usage above what was allocated on their plan would be great.
There are a lot of people waiting for this to happen to swith their client business over to cloud site. I think it is such a financial opportunity for rackspace!

I've waited over three years, I'm willing to wait one more before we migrate to another solution. This is huge, hope it happens!

Full API is required to manage domains, db/ftp/email users, clients. Without programmatic provisioning we cannot evolve to the next level and sign up more customers.

Don't hold your breath. If they're just now starting this process, and they've mentioned there's some technical issues they need to resolve, it's probably going to be a year before this thing is ready for production.

I feel like I have outgrown the control panel. Hearing this is enough to keep me as a customer for the next few months to see how things pans out!

If you read Josh's comments, you will see that he said the API will encompass everything you can do with the control panel... which is everything you mention.
