Please make the management console much faster
I only have one virtual host right now, and it take 10-12 seconds just to display that one host in Hosting > Cloud Servers. Then it takes another 6 seconds after I click on the one server just to display its details.
This is really unacceptable.
Over the last several months, we’ve made numerous changes that have improved the speed of the control panel.
We have other improvements planned over the next few months that will also result in significant improvements.

The control panel has become painfully slow. I am sure it is quite a beast to develop but OMG it hurts to wade through it.

Canadian Nomad, they couldn't because we already had a dedicated with them, I have to delete my DNS records in that my rackspace portal before I can add it in my cloud, it's wonky so I had to do it manually, one by one

tdelam: just a hint with migrating lots of sites to RackSpace, post the bind zone files to their ticket system, have them do it. It is a lot faster and save you hours of waiting for the page to refresh.

~6-9 seconds browsing pages, ~10-18 seconds to add a DNS record... not happy, I am trying to migrate over 60+ sites and so far the admin panel has been nothing but sloooowwww!

I agree, it's painfully slow to manage anything in the admin! I can't stand adding DNS records, it takes forever to load anything in the admin and I am on a local 65mbit fiber connection so i KNOW it has nothing to do with our internet, PLEASE make this better!

And, please phrase correctly - if these will not be "significant" improvements, please state "marginal improvements". This helps us all know what to expect. Being that anything done to this point has been marginal or unnoticeable I'd say.

Yes, it's ridiculous. I can't log in often because the delays are so bad I don't know where I am. Almost better to not even offer the console, than have frustrated customers. Can this be improved - substantially?

The management console is still ridiculously slow.
You need to talk to the Slicehost people. Their management console is fine. If you don't fix this ASAP, you are going to lose a lot of Slicehost customers when they're forced to make the transition.
I'd even say you should abandon the Rackspace Cloud console in favor of the Slicehost console, rather than the other way around.

It is horrendous. I have to use 3 browsers and my cell phone to order servers. They don't have a quantity field so I can't order more than one server at a time so it takes forever. It amazes me how a hosting company could have such a slow website. I tell the techs and they're telling me to clear my cookies and use a different browser. Are you ****** kiddin me? Take responsibility for your POS website.

100% agree. They should use their fanatical knowledge and make the console faster. It boggles my mind that a list of a few servers should take 30+ seconds to generate. As someone else stated, I am very close to decommissioning my 20+ cloud servers and cloud sites and moving to amazon.

Has any tried to email welcome@rackspacecloud.com before? That is the email address they put on the front of the management console. I emailed them some of my complaints and of course they never got back to me. Ridiculous that they would put out an email address like that and then not respond.

Interesting. Then that must explain it, as I've always only been a Cloud customer.
Rackspace should update their tagline then: "Fanatical Support for Managed Hosting, Cloud Hosting, not so much"

From my experience, Fanatical Support exists on the Managed Hosting side but not on the Cloud side. I've used several managed servers for over ten years at Rackspace and the support is great, frankly the best I have ever experienced in any industry including hosting, hardware manufacturers, and software publishing.. However, my experience with Rackspace Cloud has been disappointing. It is as if it is two different companies under the same banner but not under the same roof.

Boyd pretty much nailed it. I've given up on Rackspace and moved to EC2 and begrudgingly have a small app still remaining.
Its funny how Rackspaces whole tagline is "Fanatical Support" but I never see that. These forums are seemingly never monitored by Rackspace staff because a lot of these issues that have a TON OF COMMUNITY REQUEST just sit here and have no progress.
Fanatical Support is a myth.
Rackspace, you need to get your act together.

I am simply going to admit to frustration here. This is Rackspace we are talking about. Fanatical Support, driven to provide 100% customer satisfaction, etc. I cannot count the times I have said that Rackspace has risen to the, "Nobody every got fired for using Rackspace echelon with the likes of Accenture and IBM." I have stopped saying this and retract the statement.
How can a simple web app perform so badly for so long. Further, how can it be such a poor user experience for so long. I am truly embarrassed for Rackspace on this matter.
Indeed I have actually stopped recommending RackspaceCloud for this reason, and I may look in to Amazon because I need to, not because I want to. Please fix this! If you need help, then please ask. I will happily give it as I can.

I use the interface almost daily and although a few screens seems somewhat more responsive I just timed going from the list of Cloud Servers to the "Add Server" page. It took 56 seconds!!!!
