Display server names on Load Balancer Nodes
The nodes list on the load balancer only displays the internal IP address. this is annoying as that are not listed elsewhere in the control panel.
if the name of Rackspace servers was listed as well as the IP then this would be very helpful.

Create a Timeout Config to LoadBalancers
I am very frustrated with the operation of the LoadBalancer. I have web services that lead to 2 minutes to answer a call and load balancer timeout is only 30 seconds and can not be changed. This behavior of the load balancer should only redirect calls to the servers, does not reproduce the actual operation of the server timeout is configurable. I put my clients to use loadbalance and started to have problems. At least this limitation had to be explicit in the description of the service so I would avoid spending so much time trying to identify the problem. … more

load balance multiple protocols
At the moment we have a load balancer in place for SSL traffic, but we want to load balance HTTP traffic using the same address.
At the moment you can only load balance a single protocol. We want to redirect visitors on port 80 to port 443 but at the moment port 80 returns a connection refused

Send notifications when a health monitor removes a node from rotation
It is important to remove a node from rotation if it's not working properly, but it's also important to be notified when this happens. Just need a checkbox "notify me when a node is removed from rotation".

Implement autoscaling via load balancers
Other cloud providers offer "autocaling" by allowing the loadbalancer to automatically spin up a new server instance based upon relevant KPI checks. This is something that would prove very useful.

Support reverse DNS for load balancer IPs
The Rackspace DNS servers do not return a result for PTR queries on load balancer IP addresses, and there seems to be no way to change this behavior. Please allow reverse DNS to be configurable for load balancers like it is for servers.

Add API methods to get the public IP of a client behind a load balancer
It would be very useful to be able to make an API call to the Rackspace Cloud Load Balancers API that would allow you to discover the public IP of a client. This would mean you could get that IP information for HTTP and HTTPS without rewriting requests or depending on the X-Forwarded-For header.
My first thought is that the API could take the destination server's IP address, local port, and remote port information and output the client's public IP and potentially other useful information. It builds a dependency on Rackspace but is much simpler than rewriting the load balancers… more

Load Balancer Connection Throttle whitelist
Allow an IP whitelist to give more connections per second to certain trusted IPs i.e a client's office, also add API access

Add an option for load balancers to failover to another datacenter
Configure ZEUS (aka Load Balancers) in DFW and ORD to heartbeat against the each other, perhaps with a bunch of witnesses heartbeats strategically located in several geographic locations.
Heartbeat + Load Balancers + Witnesses + = Automatic Datacenter Failover and welcome to the most resilient web host ever built for the masses.12 votesstarted ·

Support Session Persistence for SSL protocol
Allow session persistence for ssl protocol to allow encrypted transferts between the load balancer and the underlying servers. The LoadBalancer will act as a SSL Proxy.
This is to avoid the clear text tranfert like with ssl termination.10 votes -
CloudFlare setting in LoadBalancer
It would be nice if we could select an option in our Load Balancer panel to signify that it's behind CloudFlare so that it can take the [HTTP_CF_CONNECTING_IP] header and throttle connections based on that (and forward that as [REMOTE_ADDR]). As it stands now if I enable connection throttling, all visitors will get throttled constantly because they'll appear as CloudFlare's IP

Get current active connections on Load Balancers
I like to see the current active connections on Load Balancers

Direct Domains to Specific Nodes
It would be great if we could setup different domains to be routed to different Nodes on the load balancer. In particular if I have a bank of WordPress sites I can load the nodes on one load balancer (keeping a single IP this way) and manage all my servers in the backend without having to have client DNS changes everytime I might need to move a site from one server to a new one.

RTMP Support in Cloud Load Balancer
Hi,
We are using the excellent RTMP technology for our Flex Chat application, and since Rackspace's Cloud's Load Balancer does not support the RTMP protocol we cannot even load balancer our WEBSERVER!
This is a vital feature for our business :(
Please help us and other loyal customers to grow!

Specify 302 Redirect for Deny Access Rule
It would be nice to be able to issue a customizable HTTP 302 Redirect instead of just the 403 Forbidden for load balancer deny access rules.
This way one could redirect traffic to a page in a subdomain explaining why they are not allowed to visit the site (for ex: aggressive scraping of content).
Sample Request:
GET /index.html HTTP/1.1
Host: www.example.comSample Response:
HTTP/1.1 302 Found
Location: http://blocked.example.com5 votes -
allow load balancers on htps to redirect http traffic to https
In our current setup, we have apache virtualhosts that listen on port 80 to redirect all traffic to https port 443, when we moved to the Load Balancer solution, we had to provision a second Balancer to accomplish this.

Show the cost of Load Balancers in Control Panel
Currently, the load balancer cost is not shown in the control panel, and the calculator must be used to get an approximate cost. This is unsuitable for smaller companies operating on tight budgets.
